UPSL Welcomes Atlanta Elephants FC To Georgia Division

Atlanta, GA based Club Joins Southeast Conference for Spring Season

March 15, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to welcome Atlanta Elephants FC as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Atlanta, GA, Altanta Elephants FC have begun UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Georgia Division. The club hosts its home games at South Gwinnett Park (2115 McGee Rd, Snellville, GA 30078).

Founded in 2003 by Vincent Baye, a well-known youth coach and referee, Atlanta Elephants FC has provided a healthy environment for young African immigrants in Atlanta for nearly 20 years. Baye passed away in 2013 but the club has maintained the community spirit on which it was created while expanding to include a competitive program.

UPSL Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "We are excited to announce Atlanta Elephants as a new member of UPSL Georgia. Everyone knows the new UPSL National Champion comes from Atlanta, Georgia, so it's a great time to join the Division and benefit from that very high level of competition. It'll be great to have the mighty Elephants in the UPSL and we wish them luck this season."

Idrissa Sow serves as President of Atlanta Elephants FC. Mohamed Papi Kande is the General Manager. Zana Ahmed Soro is the Head Coach. Cheick Conde is the Assistant Head Coach.

"Joining the UPSL feels like a natural progression. We wanted to join a reputable league and we firmly believe that the UPSL provides a tremendous platform. Our players will be able to compete agains the best best players and also showcase their talent," Soro said. " We are going to compete on the field, we'll play with style and we'll definitely win the hearts of a lot of fans all over."

Atlanta Elephants FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Atlanta, GA, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Atlanta Elephants F C will begin play in the UPSL's Georgia Division.

Founded in 2003, Atlanta Elephants FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
